Yes She Can was launched on International Women’s Day 2015 by Roberta Rose-Collins, with the aim to empower women to develop healthy lifestyle habits.

It focuses on wellness in three main areas - Physical Activity, Healthy Eating and Self Appreciation or Self Care – and shares practical tools needed to assist women in making choices that will positively affect their lives and influence those around them.

In 2016-2017, Yes She Can has been responsible for many inspirational transformation experiences and actively celebrate the achievement of its core members both in Trinidad and Tobago and Hong Kong.

Some of these achievements include:

Training for and completing the ‘Trinbago Tri’ Triathlon held on Storebay Tobago – October 2015

Entering two (2) relay teams for the Trinidad and Tobago International –January 2016

Training for and competing in the Stanley International Dragon Boat Race held in Stanley, Hong Kong – June 2016

Training for and competing in the Annual Chinese Bicentennial Dragon Boat Regatta held at the Chaguaramas Boardwalk and Paragon Sports Club – October 2016

WHY YES SHE CAN

Studies show that there is a steady rise in incidents of death due to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD). In the region of the Americas, the Caribbean has the highest incidence of NCDs (Strategic Plan of Action for the Prevention of NonCommunicable Diseases for Countries of the Caribbean Community 2011-2015, January 2011, PAHO, WHO and CARICOM Secretariat)

Poor health puts a significant strain on the social, economic and productive prosperity of a society. Yes She Can has the potential to contribute to an improved health related quality of life for our society, by educating and encouraging adult women, on the benefits of making healthier choices that lead to a more fulfilling and enjoyable life.

The main message through Yes She Can is that Women, despite station or status can make healthy and positive choices that improve and enhance their quality of life. It doesn't matter your age, social or financial background, or where you are generally in your life, anyone can make positive steps to becoming ‘their best self’!
